Cool New to board

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the board. My DH and I have only been TTC for about 3 months, but I have never actively tracked my cycles before. I've noticed that my AF shows up earlier then normal each month. It's nothing my OB/GYN seems worried about, but being the worrier I am, I can't stop thinking about it.

This months was not bad. My AF showed up 11dpo, but sometimes it is as early as 9dpo. When that happens, its normally only spotting at first. Doc says I'm borderline abnormal, but just enough on the normal side not to worry about it. Either way I go in for HSG next month. He wants to just make sure nothing else is going on.

My question is, I decided to start taking B6 supplements, because I heard that they may regulate your cycle. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if it worked?

I just wanted to say...

to My Little Bean..
and
send lots of..

I myself have never heard of B6 regulating your cycles. So I dont know if that works but I'm sure one of the other girls could help you out. I have always heard doctors putting you on the pill for awhile to regulate your cycles but thats about all I know about it. I myself have wacky cycles each month and I too have been told its normal. Not everybody has 28 day cycles it ranges.

Any hoo I hope one of the other gals can help ya out more than I did and I'm glad your here with us.

My doc said the same thing, close to a short luteal phase but close enough not to worry. I found that taking a multivitamin helped to give me more dpo's. Also if you've only been ttc for 3 months, are you just off the pill? when I came off the pill my first 5 or 6 months had short phases (AF came 10 dpo) then I started the multivitamin and jumped to 15 (I really thought I was pregnant that time) since then they are more normal 12 to 14 days. the B6 won't hurt I don't think, but a regular multi-vitamin should give you enough as opposed to a specific supplement. good luck!

I have been taking it for a while now and I don't know if it is the B6 or a combination of exercising, eating better, and taking a good prenatal vitamin, but my cycles went from 21-22 days to 27-29 days avg. It can't hurt!! I guess it also can help with PMS and other mood swings we are so lucky to get.

Thanks everyone! I have been off the pill for about 5 months. I know that could be part of the irregularity too. I'll let you know how the vitamins work out. I've been taking a Women's One a Day and just started the b6 on Wednesday.

Hi, I dont know much aout the B6 other than I took it when on the shot and it helped with my mood swings. That was a LONG time ago. LOL Oh, and in preparation to TTC I would also reccomend starting a pre-natal vitamin. It has more of the nutrients your body needs when you do get pg, so might as well have 'em helping prep it.

So, and

Hello and welcome!
We conceived after 13 months of crying and praying.
Sounds like you are LP deficient. Has your doc mentioned anything about that?

Hello! First off, I second that just coming off of the pill can make your body out of whack for a little bit. B6 may not hurt but make sure you are also taking a prenatal vitamin. It is very important your body gets the folic acid it needs. By the time you find out you are pregnant the baby's spine has already formed and any problems could have already occured. Your doctor must be taking you seriously if you are getting an HSG next month. Hopefully everything will turn out all right! If your cycle doesn't lengthen, I would talk to your doctor about a LP defecit as well.
