Question

I have a question. DH and I are TTC, however, it is being complicated by DH's inability to...finish. He has no problem getting in the mood, or performing until near the end. It just goes away. He's too young to be really having problems according to our doctors, and is in good health overall. Does anyone know any home remedies? He is under a good deal of stress, so I think that could be at least part of the problem. Is this ruining our chances of conceiving? He's so upset that he could be keeping us from our dream.

I asked my male friend who is a personal trainer...

Diet and Physical Fitness can both play a huge role in impotence. Does he eat healthy, workout and abstain from alcohol/smoking?

If it is stress related maybe you can take a romantic weekend. Without cellphones, worries about anything,or planning on TTC. Tell him that it is your time to be a couple.Sometimes just the stress of having to perfom to get pg could be a problem depending on how long have you been TTC. I hope you can figure something out.

OH and to answer your question. I don't personally know of anything that would help but I have seen products that are suppose to help him stay hard.

I'm sorry, I haven't heard of anything to help. Stress can really take a toll on your body so maybe he needs to try some relaxation methods.

I hope you can find something to help.

I was also going to suggest that the pressure of trying to become pregnant might be affecting him, even if he does really want a baby. Good luck!

stress and pressure may be affecting him. It may have become a vicious cycle...he's become so worried that he may be hurting your chances that he can't relax enough to enjoy himself. I think some sort of vacation from both work stress and TTC stress can make a world of difference.

That's exactly what I was going to say. A lot of men can get nervous that they won't be able to get their wife pregnant when TTC, or just plain performance anxiety! When we are TTC us women are usually eating, sleeping, and breathing TTC, and doing everything we can to make a perfect environment for a baby to implant.. that just leaves it up to DH to perform! That's a lot of pressure!

I am sure your DH wants to be involved with your TTC journey, but maybe if you took a "break" from talking to him about it, it may help? I mean, he'll still know you are TTC, but maybe if he doesn't know all the details about your CD, CM, temp, meds, etc.. he will be able to relax a bit, and just enjoy sex for sex.

I think Erin hit the nail on the head! Dh had a similar problem of a little bit and once I kept all ttc banter to a min. he was fine! Also, don't mention ttc before or during ttc, if you kwim! Just relax and if worst comes to worse, tell him you want to take a little break from ttc and see what happens. Doesn't mean you are REALLY taking a break but then the pressure is off!

Good luck! TTC can really take it's toll!
