Tiny Diner Portable Place Mat
LOVE this! I think it's one of the best baby purchases I've made. I was NOT going to buy throwaway place mats because they're so expensive, so I had started carrying around tape in the diaper bag. When we'd go out to eat I'd tape a napkin on the table. That didn't last long because Andrew would rip it up or get it all slobbery pretty quick.
This place mat is thick and durable and it rolls up for easy storage. It's big enough to cover any area of the table that his hands will be touching and the little catch-all at the bottom collects stuff he drops. Kiddopotamus & Co. Tiny Diner Portable Place Mat - Blue : Target

We have one of those that we used with Abby. It was great. Lucas is a pretty neat eater, so we haven't brought it out to use with him. My only complaint is that it does take up a decent amount of space in the diaper bag. It wasn't a big deal with Abby, because we carried a bigger diaper bag then. We've condensed to a small one now and I don't think it would fit in there.
