Cozy Crib Tent?!
I 1st spotted this in a pregnancy/baby magazine my doctor gave me when I seen him and I told Daniel about it...he's really freaked out over Sylvestor getting into the crib...I;ve told him the crib'd be in our room and Sylvestor can be blocked outta the room...but he;s still freaked out over it...
the reveiw I seen in the magazine says that a cat can sit on it and it won't collapse...and bugs and such can;t get into the crib...and that the netting down the side keeps baby from putting it's feet/hands through the bars of the crib...and keeps the "climbers" in the crib ...but I wanted to ask if anyone's tried it or knows someone who has cuz I'm wondering jus how big of a kitty they tested this with cuz I know some pretty heavy kitties...plus I;d think baby would be able to eventually ripe/chew the netting since it goes on the inside of the crib...so I wanted to ask about it... here's a link for people who aren't sure what I;m talking about: Cozy Crib Tent ...there;s also 1 for playpens...if that helps some people thanks for the input!!!

If you havent had a baby yet but have the crib up, line the top of the mattress with aluminum foil. Cats hate walking on it and if they jump into the crib while the foil is there, they'll learn not to jump in there. It worked for my cats.
I haven't tried a crib tent though. I just kept the door closed.

I was going to keep the door closed to the bedroom...with a baby monitor but Daniel's still freaking...
I;ve not had the baby yet...and don;t even have a crib...long story there...but we're wanting to get the crib set up and ready within the next month...so I'll do the tin foil trick... about how long did you leave the tin foil in the crib before it was effective? ...I'm glad now that I don;t have Oliver LOL he'd eat the tin foil so it wouldn't work...

I only used it when the baby wasn't using the crib. just leave it in there for as long as it takes before Kitty gets it that jumping into the crib = foil.

alrighty...Sylvestor usually catches on pretty fast...and I;m not even going to set up the crib til I have plenty of tin foil then he learns right away that this new sleeping spot feels funny on the paws...
we were also going to put tin foil in the play pen to teach him to stay outta there too... thanks for the help on that!!! *~adds tin foil to her list of "baby needs"~* LOL Mom'll wonder about that 1...

I used one of those with my son. They do work, because they kept my moms cat out and he was a porker. However, the cat liked to bat at stuff and ripped the netting, although I'm not sure if it was by claw or by tooth or both. It still worked though, even after it was ripped because he got his paw hung in it and it scared him and he stayed away after that, lol.

We have a cat and I was worried she'd get in the crib with the baby, but for some reason she stayed clear of it, and the baby for that matter. We kept the door shut when the baby was in there and scared the heck out of her the one time we found her in there.

Sylvestor's put up with Joseph...LOL...the 2yr old I use to babysit...so I know he's not scared of 2yr olds...not sure about babies though...I;m also not worried about Sylvestor attacking the baby cuz it pulls his tail...Joseph did that and Sylvestor jus flopped over and looked at him like "can I help you...?" so I;m not worried there...
I;m not too worried about Sylvestor even getting into the crib cuz about a year ago now he got kicked by a neighbor in South CArolina and it broke his hip...since then he's not jumped on anything higher then the 2nd shelf in our pantry which he can stretch up to anyways...he limps too...poor Sylvestor...so I;m not too worried about him even getting into the crib/play pen...it;s Daniel that;s worried...and I;ve told him the tin foil trick he says we're going to do that to keep him out of the crib
