Prayer for a close family friend
Sheriff Crites: Child killed and mom hurt when run over by truck at their Caulfield home Eight-month-old Clayton C. Cobb of 2249 U.S. 160, Caulfield, died Friday afternoon when he and his mother, Amanda Roark, 22, were run over by a truck at their home. Howell County Sheriff Robbie Crites reported it appears her second child, William Cowens, 3, who was in the truck, may have knocked it out of gear, it rolled toward the house and hit the mother and baby. The two were taken to Ozarks Medical Center, the child pronounced dead there. Today, an OMC spokeswoman said Roark was treated and released. Sheriff’s department Sgt. Paul Bradshaw reported deputies were dispatched to the home at 5:07 p.m. Friday. Crites said the mother had placed the baby, in a car seat near the house while she put her 3-year-old son in the truck. She then went to get the baby to take him to the truck. When she looked up, the truck was rolling toward them, hitting both and a support post on a porch, Crites said. Crites added the mother did not see the older child move the gear shift from park, but it is a possibility, as is a scenario in which the truck somehow shifted out of park without the child touching it. The incident was investigated by the sheriff’s department and the Mo. State Highway Patrol. I have known Claytons father since I was 13 so almost 10 years. I actually dated his brother in high school and we are all still really good friends. They could use some prayer to get through their griving after this horriable accident  I just wish I could be there with them
