Ok, the local girls will probably know who I'm talking about. This website has most of the stories and resources involved: Cary News | Front
The Cary Mom. Have y'all been watching this thing?  It is ugly. I quit checking it on WRAL and any news site that allows comments. It's vicious! I looked through the affidavits for the custody case this morning and all I can think is: Neither is a saint. They're two totally normal people. The husband could be any ONE of the guys I work with. And while I joke about the social skills of the techie guys I work with, it's not that they are completely inept, they're just not the social butterflies that flit through the circles of Cary! I am just amazed. This case so feeds the gossip-mongering. It could seriously be an incredible case for anyone studying sociology to watch. The husband has kept pretty quiet up until this week. He's now fighting her parents and sister for custody of the kids. Looking through the affidavits from both sides, I can only read and think how amazing it is that these two could have been anyone, from here or that I know around town. Though the close knit neighborhood thing does creep me out a bit. Ok, maybe it borders somewhere between Desperate Housewives and anyone that I know...And is it bad that I was almost laughing at the last testimony attached in the husband's affidavit? It's his friend refuting something one of the wife's friend said in hers. I am curious to see what the police come up with for how she died and who killed her. I won't speculate on who or how, because it's just silly! And it's also why I quit reading the news sites. I'm just praying they sort it out soon so this family can move forward!

I have been watching this since it unfolded.
Béla made a good point when, before they found her, that maybe her husband was hesitate to report her missing because he just thought she was off messing around on him. I really don't know what to think of it all. Ditto to what you said about neither of them being a saint. Makes me wonder if on my morning walk with Abby what would happen to Béla if I was met with some psycho that abducted and murdered me. God knows our relationship hasn't been perfect, but that doesn't make either one of us murderers, or capable of murdering the other. I'm noticing a trend here in our area, with mothers (and moms-to-be) being murdered and that's very scary.

I know. It has become quite the common theme in the news around here this summer. And since most of them have been husband killing wife/ex-wife, everyone has been REALLY quick to point at the husband in this case.
And looking through the affidavits for the wife's family in the custody case, the morning she went missing sounded pretty normal in my book: She went running. Friend calls husband when wife doesn't show up for 8:00 appointment with friend. husband says no, she went for a run with Other Friend. Friend calls back to check on her again around noon, at which point husband says he's getting in the car to go looking for her now. Friend offers to watch kids, he says no, I'm just putting them in the car. Friend then calls 911. Sorry...how does his behavior sound suspicious?

I actually stopped watching the news because nothing new was being reported - I guess I should check out your link Stacie!
ETA: I just read the affidavits and OMG I don't know who to believe! WOW!

I know. That's just weird to me. And seems to me that if they're going to spring for a memorial service at an amphitheater, it kinda lends credence to her possibly having a spending problem. Fruit don't fall far from the tree, if you ask me.
