Need Crib To Bed Advice

My twins have their own rooms, but they are SO ready to move to a toddler bed. Did any of you BTDT twin moms move them one at a time? I'm worried we move Cooper and then Rylan will be really hurt (she's sensitive and gets her feelings hurt easily ) that she's still stuck in her crib. But, the thought of having two of them making that transition at the same time doesn't thrill me or Matt. If your's aren't to that point yet, what do you think you'll do?

My Aunt Kate has quads (3 boys and 1 girl) the girl has her own room and the boys share one. When they switched from a crib to a big bed she switched them all at one time. It was hard at first, the boys didn't like the bunkbeds, and the girl didn't want to sleep alone, but after about two weeks they adjusted and bedtime went smoothly.

Good luck, I hope they make the transition easily!

My twins share a room & will share when we move into our new house in the Spring as well...I guess it will depend on if they are trying to climb out of their crib, etc. on which one will get a bed first. I really don't know, I guess, until we get to that point. Kaylee stayed in her crib until the twins were born. She was 3. But she LOVED her crib. She just didn't want to give it up until the babies were here. Then she gave hers to Maggie (she chose which one to give her crib to). I don't feel comfortable at this point letting the twins have the freedom to roam the house from a toddler bed, I know, but they are only 20 mos old (and VERY ornery).

I think I'm rambling & probably no help, but I know I need to think about it as well.

Good luck Holly!

Well, when Matt went in to get Cooper this morning he was halfway out of his crib, so we set his toddler bed up by nap time. He did really well! He only got out a couple times, but when I opened the door he ran back to bed and eventually fell asleep. He seems to be really happy, he didn't want to come downstairs afterwards.

No WAY would I let 20 month olds free in their rooms! I don't blame you on that one!

I moved Blake and Olivia at different times. We were moving the twins from the same room to different rooms. Olivia was moving into a room with Alyssa so we went ahead and put her in a twin bed. Blake moved to his own room but stayed in his crib for a while longer.

So I know I am very late on this, but Holly how did it all work out? We keep talking about moving the kids to "big beds" but haven't done it yet They don't want to climb out of their cribs (but they like to crawl in ) so we don't HAVE to transition them yet. We may wait until we have to

Did you go to toddler beds or twin/full? James and Michelle are in separate rooms (have been for a long time) so we can do whatever with each of them. I'm not sure if a toddler bed is worth the $$ vs. just buying the twin mattresses and bedframes. (I already have gates for their doors )

We moved Cooper and it went SUPER easy. He went into a toddler bed, but only because we had one from Cole. Matt is going to put together his twin bed this weekend and then Rylan will get the toddler bed. Once she get's it down, we'll put her twin bed together.

We went to BRU last Friday to get her a toddler bed, but we decided $100 was just too much for a bed that wouldn't be used more than a few months.
