Worried
Hi girls I'm having a little bit of a problem. On the 5th of this month I was eating a sandwich and some chips well while I was eating my last chips I had this wierd feeling in my throat and a little pain when I swallowed or coughed. I thought to myself maybe I scratched my troat with a chip ( Sometimes I eat too fast and dont chew my food good.) The pain swallowing and coughing lasted about 5 days and it was getting a little better no more pain just a dull ache in my chest felt like something was stuck there. Well here I am about 3 weeks later and the dull ache is still there ( I've had maybe 2 or 3 days were it didnt bother me.) Its like when I swallow a pill or large abount of food it gets it started.I also seam to have gas when it bothers me.. I burp. Now my dad said he scrached his throat once and it took him weeks to feel better but I'm worried because its been so long. Does anybody have a clue what it might be or has had this happen I have been putting off going to the doctor in hopes it will stop by its self. I know what they are going to want to do put some scope down my throat......  I dont want to do that....I'm a big baby I know.

Gargle with some peroxide and see if that helps. Also drinks lots of water.

 I've never had that feeling last that long - usually just an hour or so.I'd be leaning toward getting it checked out since it's been bothering you that long.

Yea you girls are right I need to make a appointment I'm just scared too. I always fear the worse...I'm not to kean on haveing someone put a scope down my throat I gag so easy  .Oh man....this stinks

hm, yeah, I'd probably call the doc if you've have it for a while. I wonder if it is a scratch that is taking a while to heal?

I made my doctors appointment today for 2:00 I have a very sneaky suspicion its Acid Reflux. I looked up symptoms and I have most of them except the heartburn I havent had the heartburn but they say not all people who have it get heartburn. I will let you guys know what they say....

if you do have reflux see about getting Prilosec. If you're insurance won't cover it because it's over the counter now have the doctor write you a prescription for 20mg of the generic...that's what I had to do to get my insurance to cover it. I'm glad I did too because it helped me a lot!

Hi girls sorry getting back so late on this but I got very busy yesterday. Well the doctor thinks its Acid Reflux he gave me PROTONIX 40mg I'm to try it for a month and see how it works. He said I could just get Prilosec over the counter I told him I have a hard time swallowing big pills so he gave me this stuff and he said I could crush it up and take it but...... when I got it filled it had a big sticker on it "DO NOT CHEW OR CRUSH"  thank goodness I could swallow it. I'm trying to figure out whens the best time to take it before I eat or after. Anyway we will see how it does. It did make me burp alot and twice I thought something was coming up when I burped.( Sorry TMI)

Oh one more thing. Have you ever had a doctor ask you if you where married? I mean just come out and ask you after they asked you all the health questions stuff. I had not and thought it was weird. Why would you ask that?
