Little changes
add up! Anyone making little changes?
I'm pushing the kids in the stroller to and from T's school instead of driving weather permitting, of course.  Instead of sitting on my butt outside while T plays, I ride my bike in circles and up and down the street. He usually chases me on his tricycle, so we both get exercise.  I'll push the kids in the stroller (or ride the bike when I get the pull-behind pod) to go visit my grandma instead of driving.  I'm parking far from the store instead of right at the front. I also set up my elliptical and the recumbent bike so Mom and I can each exercise on the nights we can't go to the gym.  And, I'm REALLY trying to get back to only water. I've been 'splurging' by drinking diet Sprite a lot lately and even though it's diet, it's not good for me.

Man, if we had a sidewalk to Jordan's school I would TOTALLY walk to and from. It isnt that far but there are no sidewalks and I dont trust the traffic with my kids. BUt little changes make a big difference for sure.

But with the jogging stroller, I can go off in the grass.

Oh, and I made bad habit while hanging wth someone and started drinking soda. I have been tryin to cut back, it is oh so hard.

I park at the far end of the lot too and walk, I also walk the platform at the train station while waiting for the train. I figure there's 5 minutes of walking right there. I sit in the last car on the train, so I have to walk the train length when we pull into the station. Last night while waiting to sign the kids up for gymnastics, I paced the hallways for 45 minutes rather than sitting on my butt. I've also started drinking more water, which makes me pee more and since the bathroom at worki s way down the hall, it's also making me get up more and walk
 I've also started eating more dinner and stopped saving room for dessert.

I take the steps at work if I don't have a lot of mail to carry up. It's not huge but it helps. I don't get to the top panting like a dog any more!

well Gabe started school Sept 2nd so I've been walking him to school, walking home, then walking BACK to pick him up and then walk home.
I've started to carry around a bottle of ice cold water.. I typically dont drink water, but eh. I figured it couldnt hurt. I've also decided to start riding my bike once a week... I need the exercise other than walking.

I recently got back on the elliptical. Scott & I also are back to using the scale or measuring cups to measure portions at dinner (HUGE DIFFERENCE!). Over the summer we got into the habit of going for frozen custard 1-2 times per week, which is so bad. We have decided to pretend that it's not open after Labor Day.
I love going to the outlet mall this time of year. I get to walk a LOT, but I usually end up buying too much too.  I wish that we had a place where the kids could ride bikes and I could walk or something. It's just not safe here!Rite
