I just ran 9 miles..

and I feel ill I didn't eat much today, which doesn't help. I had 2 hard boiled eggs and a yogurt. 9 miles is friggin' long. Do I really want to do this 1/2 marathon???

On the bright side, I only walked about .5 miles, and I did it all in a little over 90 minutes. My legs hurt and I want to puke!

2 more weeks until this damn thing is over! Next week I have to run 10!!

well, I just got off of work, and I didn't want to eat anything before I went running. I had a yogurt for lunch, and intended to eat something else, but just got busy!

You'd think I'd be losing more weight, but really, I'm not. I need to stop eating chocolate cake and cookies That's how I carb up!

Have you ever tried Goo? It really helps...also do you have a hydration belt that you can have water and Gatorade (or something similar?)

I need to get one of those camelback thingies. I haven't tried any Goo, it's kinda grosses me out, thinking about it! But I suppose whatever I need to get my energy, huh? I made it the 9 miles without anything to drink. I really should've had something, though, I'll need it when it gets warmer outside, for sure.

Yeah "they" say you should hydrate every 15 min or so if I remember right. I ran a marathon with Team In Training (very slowly but I finished LOL) and they really recommended hydration with gatorade type liquid as well as water (you will need the salt) and they even served pretzels and gummy bears and such at aid stations every 3 miles or so. I had no clue about all that stuff. I liked the coffee flavor gel stuff I think it was by the power bar company. I didn't care for the fruit flavored ones. When's the half? You will feel so great when you finish!!

Oh and the other thing that they suggested that really helped was taking a 10 min or so ice bath after the long runs. It sounds horrible and it is very cold but if you just don't move you go numb ;-) and it really helped cut down on the sore muscles...

thanks for the advice, Ally! It's in 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure they will have some kind of water stations set up every 3 miles or so--I think that's what it said on the website for the race. I think before I run this weekend, I'll go get a Camelback thing. Or have my husband and kids set up my own personal water station every 3 miles or so

yeah I'm sure they will have aid stations :-)

I used this... Fuel Belt - Fuel Belts - 4-Bottle

I didn't lose weight when I trained :-( and I've since put on more :-( :-( I'm trying to get back to running more consistantly but its hard with work, kids, etc...my dh really helped a lot when I was training but its a huge time commitment doing the long runs especially (especially cause I'm slow LOL)
